international-womens-dayHey Woman.  It’s your day to celebrate!

Why do we celebrate women on International Women’s Day?  Here is my take…

Willful.  We are strong-minded and not easily controlled. If we do allow ourselves to be controlled, look out!  We will realize it sooner or later and utilize our tenacity and determination to rise above adversity and challenge.  I can and I will is our motto!

Omnipotent.  By nature, we have very great power.  We carry the seed to begin a new life.  This is very powerful.  Think about it.  The ability to begin and carry a new life.  We also have power to create and to influence.  Our power gives us purpose and our purpose leads to our power.  Together, we are omnipresent, with our global presence, gaining momentum each and every day.  How cool is that!?

Magnanimous.  A big word that means generous and forgiving.  We give a lot, without condition.   But, if we are exploited or taken advantage of, we will let you know, try to understand the why behind the action, and we will find it in our hearts to forgive.

Exuberant.  We are enthusiastic, vibrant and high-spirited.   We bring that energy to family, friends, fitness and our work.  Our desire for life shines through in all that we do!

Nurture.  Women care for and encourage growth and development.  We do whatever we can to foster confidence, courage and hopefulness in ourselves and for those that we love.  We cherish affection and we appreciate tenderness and passion.

Womanhood is not easy feat.  Yet nothing worth having comes easy.  To sum it up, here are a few quotes from some influential and feisty women…

“The most difficult thing is the decision to act; the rest is merely tenacity. The fears are paper tigers. You can do anything you decide to do.” Amelia Earhart

“The woman who does not require validation from anyone is the most feared individual on the planet.” Mohadesa Najumi

“Once you figure out what respect tastes like, it tastes better than attention.” Pink

“Well behaved women rarely make history.” Laura Thatcher Ulrich

“I am enough” Brené Brown

I wish you all confidence, compassion, and fun as we honour International Women’s Day.
